The Oldest Ship Modeling Society in America
The Ship Model Shack is the home of the Philadelphia Ship Model Society, a club started in 1933 and the oldest ship modeling society in America! The Museum is home to over 50 ship models, but this is the only place to see them being created right before your eyes. The Ship Model Shack has been a part of the Independence Seaport Museum for over 10 years and the volunteers encourage visitors to join them on Saturdays & Sundays to explore the intricacies of ship and boat construction as well as model making.
Make sure to mark the Ship Model Shack as a can’t miss opportunity at the Independence Seaport Museum! Check out a sneak peak below.
