As you know, we live in challenging times. Yet at Independence Seaport Museum, we recognize that amidst challenge lies opportunity. For us, 2011 was a year of course correction - for thoughtful consideration of the Museum's mission and a renewed commitment to what best defines us - our unparalleled ability to connect people to the water.

With plans underway for a sweeping transformation of the Delaware riverfront, the Seaport Museum is poised to anchor a bustling new waterfront district. Over the coming year, you can expect more programs that take advantage of the Museum's prime location: visiting ships, sailing excursions and riverside walks that will draw the public back to Philadelphia's birthplace, the Delaware River. We have also listened to you in our exhibition and program planning and are responding with more exhibitions than ever before and programs that present the region's history and art in fresh and engaging ways.
